FREE Holy Spirit Wind Sock Craft

A couple of months ago, the kids and I wrapped up our Introduction to the Trinity curriculum. This curriculum took us through the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and how all three persons are one God. Their favourite activity out of all of those that I created for this curriculum was probably this free Holy Spirit wind sock craft.

I love finding creative ways to simplify concepts that maybe don’t seem very simple. This craft does just that.

The Holy Spirit

The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit have always been together since the beginning. Right now, the Father sits in Heaven and Jesus sits at His right side. But the Holy Spirit is with us right now. We may not be able to see Him, but He is here.

Children are very visual. They learn as they watch things happen around them. They take in sights, smells, experiences, etc. So trying to understand the power behind something or someone we can not see might be a bit challenging for them. So let’s simplify it.

Have you ever noticed how the wind blows? We can’t see the wind but we can feel it. We can see how the wind affects everything it touches like the trees and the leaves.

The Holy Spirit is the same. We can’t see Him but we can feel Him and notice all the ways He is working in our lives. We can experience His power and allow Him to lead us into God’s ways.

Holy Spirit Wind Sock

Let’s take this idea about the wind and the Holy Spirit and make it even more hands on. To make this craft you will need the following:

  • Windsock printable
  • Red/Orange Streamers
  • Markers or Crayons
  • Tape
  • Scissors
  • A fan or the wind

STEP 1

Cut along the dotted lines. You Should end up with two pieces: the windsock piece and the handle.

Step 2

Have your child decorate the papers with markers, crayons, glitter or whatever else you have!
Review the memory verse while you do this.

Step 3

Once that is done, make a tube with the dove paper to create the windsock. Tape it closed. Attach
the handle to the top with tape.

Step 4

Lastly, tape or glue streamers to the bottom of the windsock and it’s ready to blow in the wind!
