Foam! Who doesn’t love playing with foam? Foam makes the perfect sensory activity, but when you have to worry about your kids ingesting soap it kind of makes you hesitant. Today, I have the easiest taste-safe sensory foam recipe for you!
We did this activity the past week and the kids had lots of fun. What I love about foam is that you can use it during sensory play in a number of different ways. You can hide objects in the foam, you can mix colours, you can pour the foam and so much more. The possibilities are endless!
Now, what you may ask, is the key ingredient to Taste-safe sensory play foam? AQUAFABA!
Aquawaht? You may be surprised to discover that even if you don’t know what aquafaba is, you probably have it in your pantry. Aquafaba is just chickpea water! Yup, that’s right. The liquid you get after emptying a can of chickpeas can be used to make taste-safe foam! Here’s how:
- 1 Can of Aquafaba
- 1/4 tsp cream of tartar
- Food colouring
- Mix all ingredients together with an electric mixer until it foams.
- Repeat if more colours are desired.
And that’s it! It’s really that simple!
